Sara Johnston


Growing up in Lexington, Sara has an affinity towards helping Kentucky businesses and residents – especially when in a time of financial or emotional distress. Sara provides legal solutions for the long term success of her clients. Through prudent and future-looking estate planning and asset preservation, she helps families maintain, protect, and preserve the home and other assets so that individuals may continue to enjoy the lifestyle to which they are accustomed. Sara also enjoys practicing in a different area of asset preservation involving consumer and corporate bankruptcies. Through a combination of financial restructuring, workouts, liquidation or utilizing exemptions and other preservation techniques, Sara works through the bankruptcy process with her clients from start to finish. Sara takes a creative and analytical approach to each situation presented, utilizing her experience to tailor specific options for each client. Ms. Johnston is the chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Elder Law Section’s Legislative Sub-Committee as well as a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Central Kentucky American Inn of Court. Sara is also a member of ElderCounsel, and an accredited attorney by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Sara earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Auburn University and her J.D. at the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Away from the office Sara enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling, as well as playing and watching sports.
