What to Bring to your 341 Meeting of Creditors
Clients always ask what to bring to their 341 Meeting of Creditors. This question is often asked multiple times by the same person. The 341 Meeting of Creditors is often an unknown. Most of my clients, it is their first time filing bankruptcy and they are nervous about the meeting. Never fear. When attending your 341 Meeting of Creditors, you need to bring with you:
- A picture ID
- Your Social Security Card – if you do not have your Social Security card and you are attending hearings in the Eastern District of Kentucky acceptable substitutes include a W-2 from your employer or a printout from the Social Security office
- Any pay stubs you have received since your bankruptcy case was filed
- Any bank statements that run through the date the petition was filed – in my office, we ask that you get these to us as soon as possible so it is one less thing you have to worry about
- Proof of insurance – for your vehicle, home, boat, motorcycle etc…
If your attorney needs you to bring any additional information than that listed above, they will call you. And as always, if you have any questions about what to bring, what is acceptable, or just need assurances in general, always contact your attorney or someone in their office.
